Indoor Hockey
Indoor hockey in Tasmania is a fun and growing variation of the sport. Hockey Tasmania continues to encourage participation in indoor hockey as another pathway to national and international achievement for players, coaches, umpires and officials. The Festival of Indoor Hockey is an annual event held in Launceston at the Silverdome in November, providing an opportunity for beginners and long-time indoor hockey players, coaches, umpires, and officials to participate in an intrastate carnival over a weekend before the traditional local and national seasons.

The 2026 Indoor National Championships will take place from January 11 - 22 in ACT and NSW.
Championship dates:
Opens: January 11 - 15 | Canberra, ACT
U21s: January 16 - 19 | Canberra, ACT
U18s: January 20 - 24 | Canberra, ACT
U16s: January 13 - 17 | Goulburn, NSW
U14s: January 18 - 22 | Goulburn, NSW

2025 Festival of Indoor Hockey
The Festival of Indoor Hockey will be held at The Silverdome in Launceston from the 29th & 30th of November, 2025.

We will be running competitions in the following age groups:
- u14 Boys and Girls
- u16 Boys and Girls
- u18 Boys and Girls
- Open Men
- Open Women
- Social Men
- Social Women
Age eligibility will reflect that of 2025 i.e. If a player was age eligible for u14s in 2025 they will eligible for u14s at this years festival.
Nominations will be $30 per player.
Players must nominate in their respective age groups and limited to one team only i.e. juniors cannot nominate for Opens and Social.
Our aim is to run all junior age groups (14s, 16s and 18s) as regional teams (North West, North and South). This is subject to change and dependent on the number of nominations that we recieve.
For the Open age groups, we will aim to create teams based on their region. Where this isn't possible regions will be merged together.
Rosters for the Festival will be released once we have a clearer idea of the number of teams that will be competing during the festival. We will aim to create teams based on their region, where this isn't possible regions will be merged together.
