Help Us Honour Every Tasmanian Senior State Representative

Hockey Tasmania is proud to launch an exciting initiative celebrating every player who has represented Tasmania at Senior State level.

The Hockey Tasmania History Committee has recently completed a comprehensive database identifying every player who has represented Tasmania in a Senior State team since 1910 (women) and 1935 (men). Each player has also been allocated a unique player number, recognising their place in Tasmania's hockey history. Player numbering currently extends to No. 561 for women and No. 424 for men (our most recent Tassie Tigers representatives in 2025), and will continue for all future Senior State representatives.

As the first stage of this initiative, Hockey Tasmania presented individually numbered caps to members of the 2014 Men's Gold Medal-winning team in 2024, marking the 10-year anniversary of that remarkable achievement.

The next stage is to present every Senior State representative with their own individually numbered cap as a lasting acknowledgement of their contribution to Tasmanian hockey.

To make this possible, we're seeking current contact details (email address and/or mobile number) for as many past Senior State representatives as possible.

If you have contact details for any former Senior State players, we would greatly appreciate you forwarding them to us. Alternatively, please feel free to forward this email to anyone who may be able to assist.

Once we have compiled as complete a list as possible, Hockey Tasmania will host one or more presentation events where former representatives will be invited to receive their numbered player cap and celebrate their contribution to our state's hockey history.
