Glenn Lucas, Chair of the Board
Glenn is a seasoned executive with 25 years’ experience across sports administration, finance and government, and is currently Director of Finance and Budget Services with the Department for Education, Children and Young People.
A lifelong hockey player and life member of Canterbury Hockey Club, Glenn has served on the Hockey Tasmania Board since 2017 and was elected Chair in 2023.
He is passionate about providing stable governance and supporting a fun, safe and inclusive hockey environment for all participants.

Paul Bloomfield, Deputy Chair
Paul is a life member of the OHA Hockey Club with more than 40 years of involvement as a player, coach, manager, president and treasurer, having played more than 700 games.
With degrees in accounting, marketing and psychology, and extensive leadership experience across business and higher education, Paul is passionate about building strong, inclusive sporting communities.
He is motivated by the opportunities hockey provides for participation and personal growth from childhood to later life and is excited about helping Tasmanian players and volunteers thrive from grassroots through to national representation.

Paul McTaggart, Finance Director & Chair, Finance, Audit & Risk Committee
Paul is a senior leader with extensive experience across the energy, local government, education, agriculture, and technology sectors.
He is skilled in governance, contract management and portfolio oversight, and has led the delivery and restructuring of major initiatives.
Paul is passionate about building high-performing teams and ensuring strong financial stewardship to support the growth and sustainability of hockey in Tasmania.

Melanie Sharman, Director
Melanie is a Senior Research Fellow at the Menzies Institute for Medical Research with more than 30 years’ experience in physical activity, allied health and public health research.
She brings expertise in governance, public health policy, fundraising and stakeholder engagement. She has had several leadership roles within physical activity and sport such as Football Tasmania, Surfing Tasmania and the Premier’s Physical Activity Council.
A lifelong hockey player, Melanie is passionate about making sport more accessible and is motivated to broaden participation in hockey at all levels, from grassroots to include initiatives like Walking Hockey.
Helen Wilkinson, Director
Helen has more than 30 years’ experience in the Commonwealth public sector, specialising in health and aged care policy, and currently works on programs supporting Australians living with dementia and their carers.
A long-time volunteer in Tasmanian hockey, she has served as junior coordinator at club level and as Chair of the Hockey Tasmania Junior Sub-Committee.
Helen is passionate about growing participation, particularly in northern Tasmania and ensuring hockey remains inclusive, well-governed and sustainable for future generations.
Narelle Davey, Director
Narelle is a highly experienced leader in volunteer mobilisation and community engagement and is currently Manager – Volunteer Recruitment with Australian Red Cross, where she oversees onboarding and support for more than 10,500 volunteers nationally.
A long-time hockey volunteer and Life Member of West Devonport Hockey Club, Narelle has contributed to the sport for more than 20 years across committee, convenor and state team roles.
She has served on the Hockey Tasmania Board for four years, including two years as a co-opted member, and is passionate about strong governance, volunteer support and the continued growth of hockey communities across Tasmania.

Dr Wayne Ottaway, Northern Competitions Convenor
Wayne is a Launceston-based dentist with decades of leadership experience in the Australian Dental Association, including as Tasmanian Branch President and federal council member.
A lifelong hockey player, coach and administrator, he now serves as Convenor of the Northern Competition Committee.
Wayne is passionate about growing hockey in northern Tasmania and is committed to improving facilities and opportunities for players and volunteers in the region.
