Hockey Tasmania are excited to deliver a brand new Walking Hockey Program.
Walking Hockey is a modified version of the game, played on a smaller field with a lighter ball. The program is open to all ages, abilities and skill levels. Sessions will consist of small warm-up activites followed by games. Participants are invited to stay after the session for a chance to chat and catch up with other participants. Health Organisations will be scheduled to deliver an educational session after one of the sessions.
Walking Hockey is perfect for:
- People who are brand new to hockey, who may be comfortable in a less competitive format
- Players undergoing rehabilitation or are unable to run in a standard game of hockey
- Players looking for a less physically demanding version of the game
- People who enjoy the social aspect of being part of a team
