Expression of Interest – Two Co-opted Board Directors

Hockey Tasmania Board is seeking Expressions of Interest from passionate and experienced individuals to join its Board as Co-opted Directors.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the strategic leadership of hockey across Tasmania and help drive the continued growth, sustainability and success of our sport.

We are particularly seeking applicants from the following backgrounds:

We are looking for an individual who has a strong understanding of our state competitions framework through involvement with either our Senior or Junior programs. Whether your experience is as a player, coach, official or administrator, you will bring valuable insight into the current and future needs of our competitions and programs. We are seeking someone who can provide a contemporary voice, contribute to strategic decision-making and help strengthen the connection between Hockey Tasmania and the state’s leading clubs, our programs and participants.
We are also seeking a Board Director with strong commercial expertise who can assist Hockey Tasmania to build a sustainable and prosperous future. Experience in one or more of the following areas would be highly regarded:

Business leadership and development
Commercial strategy
Sponsorship and partnerships
Marketing and brand development

This Director will play an important role in identifying opportunities to grow revenue, strengthen partnerships and support the long-term sustainability of hockey in Tasmania.

A commitment to good governance.
The ability to contribute positively to Board discussions while supporting collective decision-making.

Previous Board experience is welcomed but not essential. Applicants should, however, be willing to undertake the Australian Sports Commission's free online governance training, The Start Line – Sport Governance Foundations, if they have not already completed equivalent director education. Commitment

Co-opted Directors are appointed by the Hockey Tasmania Board and participate fully in Board discussions and strategic planning. Board meetings are generally held monthly, with occasional additional meetings or strategic workshops. Co-opted Directors will participate on the Board until the AGM in May 2027 where there may also be opportunities to become an elected Director. Board Directors roles are voluntary.
