Premier League Round 11 Preview
Published Thu 18 Jun 2026
The Premier League season enters its second half as teams begin their third round of matchups, bringing with it plenty of familiarity and increasingly significant contests.
The men's action gets underway with North West Graduates hosting University. Their most recent meeting produced one of the most surprising scorelines of the season, with University piling on 14 goals in a remarkable 14-3 victory. The Bulldogs will be eager to respond this time around, having rediscovered their form with three consecutive victories heading into the clash. University remain unbeaten this season and will be looking to complete a perfect three-from-three record against NWG.
Next up, OHA face Canterbury. The Lions are looking to halt a difficult run of form, having lost their past three matches against the competition's top three sides. Canterbury have had the upper hand in this fixture so far, recording 3-0 and 1-0 victories in their two meetings this season. OHA, meanwhile, are still chasing their first win of the campaign and will see this as an opportunity to close the gap on the teams above them.
The final men's match sees DiamondBacks take on Derwent. The Snakes are beginning to hit their stride, entering the round unbeaten in their last five matches and sitting comfortably in second place. Their impressive 3-3 draw with ladder leaders University last week came despite the absence of star brothers Oscar and Jack Pritchard, highlighting the depth within their squad. Derwent, by contrast, have slipped to fifth after a promising start to the year, losing their last four matches. DiamondBacks have won both previous meetings between the sides this season, 4-1 and 3-1, and will start as favourites once again.
The women's competition opens with a top-versus-bottom clash as DiamondBacks take on Derwent. The ladder leaders have dominated the two previous meetings, recording emphatic 8-0 and 9-0 victories. However, the young Derwent side has shown encouraging signs in recent weeks, pushing University all the way and scoring three goals across their last two outings. They'll be hoping that continued improvement can help produce a more competitive contest this time around.
That is followed by an intriguing matchup between North West Graduates and University. The competition's top three sides are yet to drop points against the bottom three this season, but University came close to causing an upset last week. They pushed DiamondBacks deep into the contest and were within a whisker of drawing level at 2-2 before eventually falling 3-1. That performance preceded by back-to-back victories, suggests a side growing in confidence. NWG, however, have won both previous encounters between the teams, 4-0 and 3-2, and will be aiming to maintain second spot on the ladder and the double chance for finals that it provides.
The final game of the day sees Canterbury take on OHA. The Ships will be looking to keep the pressure on the top two, while the Lions seek to close the gap to fourth place. Canterbury made an emphatic statement in the first meeting of the season, claiming a commanding 6-2 victory, but the Round 6 rematch was far tighter, with a solitary goal proving the difference in a 1-0 result. Canterbury will need to replicate that defensive performance if they are to challenge a OHA side that has been in impressive form throughout the past month and possesses no shortage of firepower.
