Tasmanian trio Oscar Pritchard, Oscar Sproule and Ollie Stebbings have been selected in the Australian Burras squad for the 2026 Oceania Junior World Cup Qualifiers in Redcliffe.
Fellow Tasmanian Jayden Pearson will also be involved in the series after being selected as an umpire for the three matches.
The Burras selections follow a series of recent training camps at Redcliffe Hockey Club, where Australia’s leading Under-21 players pressed their claims for a place in the squad.
Australia will face New Zealand in a best-of-three series, with qualification for the 2027 FIH Hockey Men’s Junior World Cup on the line.
The series will also mark Simon Orchard’s first competition as Burras head coach following his recent appointment to the role.
Pritchard, Sproule and Stebbings will now have the opportunity to represent Australia in the three-match series, beginning on Thursday, 1 October.
The second match will be played on Saturday, 3 October, before the series concludes the following day.
