Tassie Tigers Confirm Final Squad For 2026 Hockey One Season

The Tassie Tigers have finalised their men’s and women’s squads for the 2026 Hockey One season, combining a strong contingent of returning players with international quality and exciting new additions.

Both squads feature 25 players and will begin their campaigns against the Perth Thundersticks at the Aurora Energy Tasmanian Hockey Centre on Saturday, 10 October.

Established Core Joined by New Faces in Women’s Squad

The women’s squad retains a strong core from the 2025 campaign, with Kacee Ponting, Phillida Bridley, Zayna Jackson, Taylor Brooks, Maddison Brooks, Isabelle Kruimink, Madison Clark, Beth Dobbie, Holly Gilbar and Evelyn Dalton all returning.

They will be joined by a significant collection of new faces, including international recruits Paige Blake, Holly Pearson and Sophia Schwabe.

Blake and Pearson bring experience with New Zealand, while German international Schwabe arrives with more than 30 appearances for her country.

Former Hockey One championship-winning captain Penny Squibb also strengthens the squad, while Hannah Baxter, Yvette Biekart, Lauren Canning, Lucy Cooper, Georgina Carter, Sophie Kruimink, Meah Poke, Stella Pritchard, Camila Raposo, Bryn Underwood and Jade van der Zwan complete an exciting group.

Susan Brooks and Brett Withington will lead the women’s coaching team, with Kath McCann appointed team manager.

Experience and Continuity Headline Men’s Squad

The men’s squad features considerable continuity, with 20 members of the 2025 group returning for another Hockey One campaign.

Tasmanian hockey legend Eddie Ockenden and fellow Olympian Tim Deavin provide a wealth of experience, while Kookaburras representatives Hayden Beltz, Josh Beltz, Lachlan Rogers and Jack Welch also return.

Matthew Bird, Joshua Brooks, Jeremy Edwards, Ehren Hazell, Ruben Hoey, Alex Hogan-Jones, Keenan Johnson, Tyson Johnson, Samuel McCulloch, Magnus McCausland, Oscar Pritchard, Oscar Sproule, William Sproule and Oliver Stebbings are also back from last season.

The returning group will be complemented by William Dixon, Angus McMullen, Jack Pritchard, Noah Thomas and Lex Tump, who enter the 2026 squad.

Ben Read will coach the men’s team, assisted by Nick Tremayne, with Camilla Winch serving as team manager.

The Tigers open their season with a home double-header against the Perth Thundersticks on Saturday, 10 October, with the women beginning at 2:30pm before the men take the field at 4:15pm.
